Creativity doesn’t have rules

Recently I’ve been reading about the subject of “creativity”. It’s one of my favorite topics – along with imagination.

Here’s some excellent advice for all writers, especially new writers and ‘recovering’ writers.

– Be true to yourself

– The creative process is not linear, predictable.

– Your creative process is unique so don’t compare it with others or sell yourself short

If you feel like you have nothing to say

“I see a lot of screenplays and movies that are derivative. That’s like trying to be second in a race. Lightening in a bottle is when you touch on something real. It can be a small observation, but you need to have something to say. If you feel like you have nothing to say, then ask yourself ‘Why do I hurt?’ or ‘Why can’t I find love?’”

Lion King 3D release

The amazingly successful animated film, Lion King, is being released today in 3D by Disney.

It contains songs written by Elton John and Tim Rice and wonderful soundtrack by film score composer extraordinaire, Hans Zimmer.
